How to improve your long game in golf for better shots
Golf is the
game of patience, practice, and strategy. Also, it could bore you if you do not
get the results you are aiming for. And it only looks easy. It is highly
frustrating when you do not get the shot you were strategizing for. Of course,
all the other games need patience, practice, and strategy, but the application
here is different. Some sports are energy
filled where you need quick decision power to make it work. Some sports are to
be enjoyed by sitting and thinking a hundred times before making a move. Here,
not only you need a strategy but also
hand and eye co-ordination. Also, it is not quick to make a stark difference. You
can think hard about how the ball will swing and what club can help it fly it
off the ground. Every new spot is a new strategy; every new obstacle is a new
challenge. And this is what makes golf
all the more interesting. You are not dealing with one golf stick, maybe with
14. Which one will you choose to make the right move?
And which
one will you choose to improve your long game? If these are the questions that
arise in your mind, then we are here to help you with your long game shots. Do
not forget to get your golf sets polished for the occasion. Monark Golf is
having a sale on golf set clubs on their website.
Here are
the things you can do to improve your long game:
1.
Don’t be
too hard on the grip
Loosen your grip a little and do not strangle it like you
would want to strangle your enemy’s neck. Now,
this doesn’t mean to have a clumsy grip on it either. Let your grip be firm but
not stiff and tight. This way, your hands will take on your body’s weight and
force when driving the ball further rather than only of your wrist’s force.
2.
Line your
body to the target
This way you would be able to focus on the ball and hit to
the target. If there are obstructions like wind-speed hampering your aim then
take a little or little right to the direction of the wind. The wind will take care of your ball. Do not try to swing
against the wind, you will fail. Swing with it to let the wind take care of it. Make nature your ally.
3.
Correct
posture is a must
If your posture is not correct, your body can get too tensed
for the ball and you would miss your aim continuously. Either you will end up
with poor shots or you will end up with poor shots. Do you want that for
yourself? And different clubs need different stance. Observe the professionals
to know how to do that for each club and shot.
4.
Practice
makes a golfer perfect
Yes, you need to dedicate your time and effort to the sport
if you don’t wish to lag behind. Be it practicing
alone or with your troupe, you need to make time for golf to make your shots
better and improve on your handicaps. You can get better golf club sets
on sale at Monark Golf.
5.
Go to the
driving range to observe
Our intuition is not always our best teacher. It will take
you much time to correct your stance and shots all by yourself. You can go to
the driving range and observe other professional golfers on how they drive it
to the greens. And many would like to offer you their help. Get some tips from
them and make that shot work! Work on it till you make it happen.
6.
Get the
right flex, shaft, and grip
Sometimes we are not able to make the shot because our golf
sticks are not working much for us. Our needs can differ and we might not be
aware of it. If you need softer flex for
your shot and more forgiving club heads,
then customize it for yourself. Monark Golf has in-house professionals who will
modify the clubs for you.
